What makes Aldeburgh Photography Group different from many other camera clubs is that we aim to help our members develop their photography, regardless of the equipment they use, and we don’t believe competitions are the best way to do this.
April 2025 Update: On a beautiful spring morning five members of the club met with local photographer Lucy Kayne for a photo walk at Covehithe Beach in Suffolk. Lucy has a rich knowledge of this wonderful natural landscape. She has expertise in helping people optimise the use of their camera and all the different settings as well as how to compose a pleasing image. All participants enjoyed this session enormously and learnt a lot that can be taken into future photographic projects. We will plan another photo walk in the near future.
We welcome all photographers whatever their level of expertise. Our aim is simply to help all our members develop their photographic talents. We have seminars and practical workshops on a wide range of subjects, together with monthly topics on which members can contribute images if they wish for supportive, non-competitive discussion at the following meeting. Take a look at our next event or at our past programme to see what sort of activities we provide. If you are keen to improve your photography and to share your work with others, why not join us? You can be sure of a warm welcome whether you have the latest mirrorless camera, a traditional DSLR, or prefer the camera on your smartphone.
We usually announce our activities in the free downloadable Aldeburgh Times with the kind assistance of its editor. From July, we’ll also be posting some information in the Aldeburgh Gazette.
