After a brief meeting for the AGM, there will be a talk on AI in image generation, a short quiz, and a series of video shorts on composition in photography.
A look at portraiture over the last 170 years. This is part 2 of Tom Peck’s presentation. The first part was in October. As Christmas approaches, there will be coffee and mince pies and a chance to talk and look forward to 2024.
We have some interesting talks from members on a variety of subjects. Nuala Simpson will give a talk on ‘Big Cat’ photography. Chris Atkinson has a talk on Frank Meadow Sutcliffe – Photographer And Social Historian. John Prodger will present ‘Journey To The Levant’ and finally Stuart Turner will talk about ‘Medical Missions To Tbilisi, Georgia 1996 and 2016 – A City Of Contrasts’. Each talk will be illustrated by photographs and the diversity of subject matter should prove to be an informative evening.
The first part of the evening will see part 1 of a YouTube presentation by Tom Peck. The title is ‘What Is A Portrait’.
A history of photographic portraiture from Victorian times to the present. With a catch line ‘you’ll never look at a portrait the same way again’ this promises to be an interesting evening.
Alec Brown will show a presentation on the theme of using film.
The presentation will show where more varied films can be sourced and processed.
Towards the end of the evening we will have a look at a selection of the many photographs submitted by members taken at Aldeburgh Carnival.
